2 people identified in crash that injured 2 others in Dallas’ Pleasant Grove area

The two people that died in a crash that injured two others in Dallas’ Pleasant Grove neighborhood Monday have been identified.

Jermaine James Simon, 53, and Sharnett Sharite Thomas, 60, died of blunt force injuries about 9:05 p.m. at the scene, according to the Dallas County medical examiner’s office.

Dallas Fire-Rescue and Dallas police responded to reports of an accident about 9 p.m. in the 2200 block of North Jim Miller Road.

Firefighters found the vehicle after it collided with a tree, trapping the individuals inside, DFR spokesperson Jason Evans said.

Crews were able to remove the people but Simon and Thomas died at the scene.

Dallas police said Tuesday afternoon that two unidentified people were transported to the hospital, one in critical condition and one stable.

It remains unclear what led to the crash. Police said the preliminary investigation determined only one vehicle was involved.
