Man injured after being shot by police in Saginaw, officials say
The Texas Rangers are investigating after police shot and wounded a man Thursday morning in Saginaw, according to a news release from Saginaw police.

At about 7:50 a.m., officers went to a residence in the 1300 block of North Creek Drive to serve a felony arrest warrant on a man, the release said. Officers contacted the man and tried to arrest him but got into a physical fight with him after he allegedly resisted, according to officials.
During the fight, a Saginaw police officer fired his weapon and struck the man, the release said. Officers rendered aid before the man was taken to a local hospital. Information about his condition was not immediately released. His identity was also not immediately disclosed.

The Texas Rangers were notified and are conducting an independent investigation of the incident, according to the authorities. Saginaw police will also conduct an administrative investigation, the release said.
Police did not saw what the felony warrant was for.
