Police said they responded to a reported shooting on April 23 in the 1700 block of Hemphill Drive, where they say they found a 2-year-old shot. The child was taken to a hospital, where they later died.
Dallas police said they were looking for a 25-year-old man who allegedly fled the scene of the shooting in April before officers arrived. Investigations into the man’s social media led police to an 18-year-old who was a known associate of the 25-year-old suspected shooter, police said.
Once his location was confirmed, police said they executed a search warrant and took both men into custody. Police said several firearms and illegal narcotics were also recovered during the search.
