The Texas Rangers are investigating after police shot and wounded a man Thursday morning in Saginaw, according to a news release from Saginaw police.\u00a0<\/p>

At about 7:50 a.m., officers went to a residence in the 1300 block of North Creek Drive to serve a felony arrest warrant on a man, the release said. Officers contacted the man and tried to arrest him but got into a physical fight with him after he allegedly resisted, according to officials. \u00a0<\/p><\/div>

During the fight, a Saginaw police officer fired his weapon and struck the man, the release said. Officers rendered aid before the man was taken to a local hospital. Information about his condition was not immediately released. His identity was also not immediately disclosed.\u00a0<\/p>

The Texas Rangers were notified and are conducting an independent investigation of the incident, according to the authorities. Saginaw police will also conduct an administrative investigation, the release said.<\/p><\/div>
