Two people were killed and three others were injured in a shooting that happened Tuesday near a Korean market in Carrollton, according to police.<\/p>

What happened<\/h2><\/div>

A 69-year-old man is accused of shooting and killing two people and injuring three others during a business meeting near the\u00a0K Towne Plaza, Carrollton police Chief Roberto Arredondo said during a news conference. The man was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit near\u00a0H Mart at 2625 Old Denton Road. Police said the shooting was not a random act of gunfire.<\/p><\/div>

Status of wounded<\/h2><\/div>

All three victims injured in the shooting were taken to a local hospital and are said to be in stable condition,\u00a0Arredondo said. Police did not release the identities of the two victims killed in the shooting.<\/p><\/div>

“Officers are currently working multiple scene across the K Towne Plaza,” \u00a0Arredondo said.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>

He said there is no immediate threat to the public at the moment. Authorities are working on identifying what led to the incident.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>

Community leaders share statements<\/strong><\/h2><\/div>

Carrollton Mayor Steve Babick said in a statement the Korean community has “made their home in Carrollton’s K-Town \u2014 as a place to live, work and play.”<\/p><\/div>

The statement said the mayor’s office is extending prayers to the families of the people killed and injured in the shooting.<\/p><\/div>

“We will continue to watch over our neighbors in need as we all search for answers,” the statement said.<\/p>

Babick also thanked local, state and federal agencies\u00a0that responded to the shooting.<\/p><\/div>
