Showers and thunderstorms are more likely to hit the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the afternoon toward 4 p.m., according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.<\/p><\/div>

As of 6:15 p.m., DFW International airport is under a ground delay for departures until 11:59 p.m. due to thunderstorms with delays ranging from 60 to 180 minutes, according to the\u00a0Federal Aviation Administration. DFW is also under a ground stop until 7:15 p.m. and departure delay of about 60 minutes.<\/p><\/div>

Love Field airport is under a departure delay of 75 minutes.<\/p><\/div>

Dallas-Fort Worth is looking at an 80% chance of precipitation Sunday with possible heavy rain, damaging winds and hail, the weather service’s forecast said. Some of the storms throughout North Texas could be severe, according to the weather service.\u00a0<\/p><\/div>

Barring a slight chance of showers in the early hours of Monday, the rest of the coming week is looking clear and sunny for North Texas. Days are expected to be hot with highs in the 80s and 90s.\u00a0<\/p>
