Mother’s Day in North Texas could be wet and stormy. Here’s a timeline
North Texas is headed into a hot and stormy Mother’s Day weekend following two days marked by cool and pleasant weather.

Friday will be mostly sunny although there is a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 10 a.m., according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office. The high temperature is forecast to top out near 80 degrees before dropping to 63 degrees overnight.

The chance for storms is forecast to continue throughout the night into early Saturday, the weather service said. Saturday, for the most part, is going to be clear and sunny before overcast conditions and storm chances return Sunday for Mother’s Day, according to the weather service.
Temperatures in North Texas are expected to consistently be in the 80s until mid-next week.
